Daniel created Atomic Picnic in 2004 to introduce a production entity to the Austin market that was focused exclusively on developing the relationship between creative communications and technology.

I’ve been in sound for over thirteen years and love it.

In the last year I’ve been working with Atomic Picnic supporting a number of events in and around Austin, Texas. Together, we bring a vast array of experience to any venue, put on fantastic shows, and have a good time doing it. Over the years, I have developed my ear and technical skills in more than 5,000 shows to create well-balanced audio images for a variety of talent on a variety of equipment. I am fortunate to have mixed some of the Greats: Ray Charles, Bo Diddly, Tower of Power and Jim Belushi (yes, he’s in possession of every bit of soul that his brother was—a real blues brother).

Outside of audio, I spend time with my seven-year-old son playing LEGOS, painting the dog green, reading books, or watching The Sandlot for the umpteenth time. We take bike rides to the park to swim or fish or both. I ponder the day I have to tell him about girls, or moreover, the day he tells me.

Mikela has been a member of the arts and entertainment community for most of her life. She began at the wee age of 5 dancing and has since progressed into the production side of entertainment.  After five years of study at the University of Texas at Austin she graduated with two Bachelors of the Arts degrees, in Theater and Dance and Japanese language.  She has been working in production since 2005, and specializes in lighting technology and design.

She likes dogs, programming, designing lights, martial arts and learning about new technology.  Mikela views every new event as a creative challenge and an opportunity to make art.

Nathan graduated from the Film and Television Department at Savannah Collage of Art and Design and subsequently moved to Austin in 2005.  He worked at GEAR, a commercial and motion picture film house, for two years before becoming a freelancer.  His experience includes events, commercials, Internet content and TV shows for local and national production companies.  He works as a camera operator, 1^st and 2^nd AC, DIT, video tech, video assist, grip, utility and prompter operator

Nathan’s proudest accomplishments are his two daughters, Nadia and Darian, with his lovely wife Anna.

Ben Oliver is a graduate of Southwestern University with a BA in Communications. His areas of expertise include film and video camera operation and theatrical and event lighting.
